The Cardo

Cardo Maximus - the main street of the Roman Byzantine Jerusalem. During archaeological digging in 1975, a part of a street was uncovered and identified as the Cardo Maximus - the main street of the Roman Byzantine Jerusalem. The Cardo was a pillared street, partly open and partly roofed. It was restored and now has shops in it.
The Cardo stores are open Sun.-Thurs.:8:00-18:00, Friday: 8:00-16:00
