Katzrin Park

A small museum of regional history that is modern, light, and well planned is the heart of this complex. Here you can also see an exhibit and short film about the Golan stronghold of Gamla, destroyed by the Romans in A.D. 67 during the First Revolt against Rome.

The Ancient Qasrin Archaeological Park (tel. 04.696.2412) is just outside Qasrin to the southeast along the main road. Here youll find the partially restored ancient synagogue of Qasrin, dating from the Byzantine and early Arab periods. Youll also find two reconstructed houses from the Talmudic era, complete with reproductions of furnishings and implements from those times. This reconstruction helps give a revealing picture of what daily life in the early Jewish communities of the Golan and Galilee would have been like.
